Project Explanation

This assignment was a final project for an Intranet Development course. The course objectives were an in-depth study of enterprise portal applications and their integration with enterprise databases and legacy systems. Architecture and solutions for leveraging legacy systems and business intelligence through interface with datawarehousing, knowledge management, and decision support. Tools and technologies for client, server, and content management. Web information systems development methods and process. Major applications involve: decision support, customer applications and content personalization for intranet.

My Role

I acted as a project leader in this group with other roles being: competition analyst, technical analyst, and programmer . Specifically, I designed the site layout, wrote the employees discount and employees training programs, and developed the company strategy.

Our team came up with an Intranet strategy for the company based on busines drivers, competition, business strategies, and technical capabilities.

Develop an on-line data entry application, which include (employees training, surveys, project tracking, and employees discount shopping cart). Those prototypes are connected to a secure server using ASP, JavaScript, HTML, stored procedure, triggers to automate the data modification process (update, insert, delete). The project implemented by using DreamWeaver, FrontPage, HomeSite, Flash, Fireworks, and Photoshop.
